Description This is quite long and detailed but may be worth sticking out to see how different movement qualities and shapes can be brought out of a simple core movement from the so-called "internal" Kung Fu styles - Xingyi, Bagua & Taiji (Hsing I, Pa Kua & Tai Chi). The movement is generally known as "rise, drill fall and overturn" in the first 2 styles and is seen as a "rollback and squeeze forwards (or warding off)" movement in Taiji, where it forms the opening of the sequence called "Grasp Bird's Tail" or "Lazily Rolling Off The Coat". OK - it isn't riveting viewing, but I hope it is informative in its way. www.martialtaichi.co.uk http www.martial-training.com |
